In December 1990 a group of members with interested in sports for people with disabilities were the founding members of the Romanian Federation of Sports for the Handicapped. The founding members were:
The Federation was set up by the order of Ministry of Youth, functioning inside the Department Sports for All.
In 2001 by the application of the 69/2000 law, our Federation along with other national sport federations acquired private rights and public utility and the name changed to: the Romanian Sport Federation For Disabled People (FRSPH). In 2009 the Federation became the National Paralympic Committee, Romania.
