IBSA European Judo Championships, Walsall UK

Alex Bologa made Romanian history today by becoming the first European Champion in Blind Judo. Judoka Alex Bologa, won a bronze medal in the Paralympic Games in Rio 2016 and made history on the tatami in Brazil winning over thousands of hearts not only for his excellent performance but for his modesty, simplicity and wonderful character displayed there. Today he beat the Spanish B3 Ibanez Banon in the final to win the European gold medal. Congratulations to Alex and to his trainers Tomi and Gianina!

IBSA INTERNATIONAL JUDO TOURNAMENT, Elektrenai, Lithuania 3 June 2017

The Lithuanian Blind Sports Federation organized an IBSA International Judo Tournament this weekend. Alex Bologa represented Romania with his trainer Tamas Gergely. In category -60kg Alex won the gold medal beating among others Abdurrahim Ozalp (Turkey), European bronze medalist who took 2nd place and Sergio Mendes (Portugal) who was placed 3rd. Congratulations! Alex and Tomi will remain in Lithuania for an international training camp.
